A child’s first nail appointment: classic polish, gel or spa?

A parent-friendly look at the gentler services, colour choices and little extras on the kids menu.

Keep the first visit simple

For a child, the most memorable part of a nail appointment might be choosing a colour and having time that feels entirely their own. It does not need to be a complicated service. Think about what they would enjoy: a quick polish, a gentle hand or foot spa, or a little detail on one nail.

Our kids appointments are paced for younger guests. The team explains what is happening and keeps the experience calm. If your child is uncertain about sitting still or trying a new treatment, tell us when you book. We can help you choose a service that feels manageable rather than turning a first visit into a long list of extras.

Colour and spa are different choices

The kids spa and nails menu offers classic polish and gel colour for hands, feet or both. Classic polish air-dries and is easier to change at home. Gel is cured under a lamp and needs a suitable removal appointment later. A parent can choose based on the experience, the desired finish and how they want to manage it afterwards.

The hand and foot spa services are a separate way to enjoy the visit. They use selected Dior and CHANEL skincare products and focus on a gentle care ritual. A child who is more excited by the pampering than the colour may enjoy one of those options on its own.

We ask about allergies, sensitivities and previous reactions before treatment. If you have a question about a product or whether an appointment suits your child, contact the lounge before booking and talk it through with the team.

A simple colour appointment and a spa ritual ask different things of a younger guest. One is mostly about selecting a shade and sitting for application; the other makes more time for the care experience. Think about what your child is excited by and how they usually feel in a new setting, then choose the more comfortable starting point.

Let them choose one small detail

Stickers, charms and cute nail art are small additions priced per nail. An accent on one finger can feel special without making the whole appointment more involved. If a child has a favourite colour or a simple idea, bring it along and we can discuss what is possible within the chosen service.

If an adult is booking at the same time, contact the lounge so we can help coordinate the appointments. The goal is for everyone to have enough time, not to make a child wait through a service they did not come for.

The best first appointment is one they feel comfortable with. Start small, let them enjoy the choice and see what they would like to try next time.

If they change their mind about a design or prefer a quieter finish on the day, that is fine to discuss with the technician. The pleasure of a first visit often lies in feeling listened to. A straightforward service with one favourite detail can be every bit as memorable as a more elaborate set.
