Tell us what is on the nail first
‘I need my nails redone’ can mean several different things. Gel polish, gel extensions and acrylic are not the same product, so the next appointment depends on what is already there. If you know where the set was applied and what system was used, tell us. If you do not know, a photograph and a quick conversation can help us advise before you book.
The condition of the existing set matters too. A grown-out but otherwise sound set is a different situation from one nail that has chipped or lifted. A full change of look is different again. We want to reserve time for the work that is actually needed, including any new colour or art you would like afterwards.
An infill maintains; a repair addresses one nail
An infill is maintenance for suitable existing gel or acrylic extensions as the natural nail grows. The technician assesses the set and rebalances it where appropriate. It is not a promise that every old set can be filled indefinitely; the product and nail underneath still need to be suitable.
A nail repair is more targeted. If one nail needs attention and the rest of the set is in good condition, a per-nail repair may be the right service. If several nails are lifting, or you are unsure what is underneath, contact us rather than booking multiple repairs without a conversation.
A photograph can be particularly helpful here. It lets the team see the length, visible lifting and the look you want next. We can then guide you toward a repair, maintenance or a fresh start.
If one nail is affected shortly before an event, say when the event is. We can discuss whether a targeted repair is available and whether the rest of the set is still suitable. A short appointment for one nail is very different from rebuilding a set, so the detail matters when we find you a time.
Removal makes room for the next choice
Professional removal is the route when you want to take off existing gel polish or extensions, or when maintenance is no longer the right option. The method and time depend on the product. Our team removes it with a controlled approach rather than pulling or peeling it from the nail surface.
The removal and repair menu separates gel polish, gel extension and acrylic removal, and explains the current booking conditions. Our standards page explains how we prepare tools and approach the natural nail.
When you get in touch, mention whether the product was applied at Kanita or elsewhere, which nails are affected, and whether you want a new service afterwards. That short exchange is often the quickest way to arrive at the right appointment.
You can also decide to go back to natural nails for a while. In that case, removal and grooming might be the whole plan, rather than removal followed immediately by another extension set. The team can explain which menu items cover each step so your booking reflects your choice.
