The Kanita journal / Private facials

What happens at a private facial appointment?

A welcoming guide to the consultation, treatment room and choices behind your first private facial at Kanita.

You do not need to arrive with a skincare diagnosis

If this is your first facial, you might feel as if you should already know what your skin needs. You do not. A conversation before treatment gives you space to say what you hope to get from the visit, what products you use and whether you have any sensitivities or previous reactions. The therapist can then explain the options in ordinary language.

Some guests want a refreshing reset; others want a longer, quieter appointment. The experience should be shaped around you and the time you want to spend. If there is a product or step you would rather avoid, say so. The therapist can make that part of the conversation.

A room designed to let you settle in

Our facial suite is private, with treatment beds dressed in fresh FRETTE linens. The linens are one part of the experience you can feel immediately: a considered place to lie down, leave the pace of the day behind and enjoy care without an audience. The products, the therapist's attention and the quiet of the room matter together.

We prepare fresh linens and towels for each guest and reset the treatment space between appointments. You can read more about the steps behind a visit on Our Standards.

A facial generally begins with conversation and cleansing before moving through the products and massage elements of the chosen treatment. Your therapist will tell you what is included, and you can ask questions at any point. There is no need to memorise a list of ingredients before you arrive.

If you are coming straight from a busy day, give yourself a little time to arrive and settle before the appointment. You can mention an upcoming event, a product you have been using recently or whether you mainly want a quiet pause. Those small details help the therapist understand your priorities without turning the visit into an interview.

Choose the experience that appeals to you

Our facial collection brings together Ella Baché treatments and La Mer rituals. Within each collection there is a shorter and a more extended choice. Our guides to Ella Baché facials and La Mer facials explain the character of each option.

Add-ons can be discussed after you have chosen the main facial. You do not need to build the most elaborate appointment to have a meaningful one. A treatment that gives you the right amount of time and comfort is a good place to begin.

Tell us if you are planning the visit around an event, combining it with a nail appointment or simply looking for an unhurried hour to yourself. We can help you choose the booking that suits the day you have in mind.

It is equally fine to say that you do not know which facial to choose. Describe the kind of experience you want, and we can explain the collections, the time involved and any optional enhancements. The purpose of the menu is to help you feel at ease with the choice before you lie down.
